"The PD95 has been really stout for us. It's a nice, heavy-duty lock, and we haven't had any issues with maintenance or breakage," Claiborne noted.
ELECTRIFIED SLIDING DOOR SECURITY
For areas requiring higher levels of security, such as research rooms and spaces protecting personal belongings, USC deployed the INOX PD97ES electrified sliding door lock.
The PD97ES was selected for its integrated design and reliability in mission-critical environments.

Integrated power transfer: Power is delivered directly from the strike to the lock body, eliminating external door loops or concealed transfers.

Heavy-duty mechanical core: Maintains security integrity even under high usage.
"We brought the PD97ES in on our sliding doors to protect research and people's personal belongings," Claiborne explained. "It's fail-secure, and in the case of a power failure, it stays locked. That's very important for us."
By incorporating power transfer directly into the lock and strike interface, USC reduced long-term maintenance exposure while maintaining a clean door aesthetic, an important consideration in academic and clinical environments.
